More Speed, Power and FUN!

Unique e-bikes made for European bikers wanting something more than a regular e-bike!

What's unique with Elvibe e-bikes?

The bike has 2 modes: EU-legal and TURBO mode. You switch between these modes using a remote control. No traces and not possible to see it has a TURBO mode. It's a hidden function only you know about. Drive at speeds up to ~50km/h in Turbo mode!

Battery

High quality battery with Panasonic 21700 cells. Integrated Battery Management System protects the cells for long lifespan. Very high energy-content for long rides.

Hydraulic brakes

Oil filled brake system with 4 brake-cylinders per caliper to increase braking power. No wire that will rust. 180mm disk brakes with higher diameter

GPS tracking

Integrated GPS-tracker will show where the bike is. Handy in case you forget where you parked it or in case of theft.

Brushless motor

Direct drive 1000W motor with no sprockets that will wear out. High diameter and rare-earth magnets for high torque in steep hills and high speed.

(In EU-legal mode the motor is limited to 250W and speed is limited to 25km/h)

More details

Our bikes are always having high quality tires from Continental. The frames are  from famous brands, made of aluminium-alloy. There are used a lot of stainless bolts and screws.

The electric system is 48V, chosen for higher torque and speed compaired to 24V and 36V. The LED lamps are 48V, powered from the motor-battery. The bikes has brake light, turn-signal and horn.

The big color LCD screen shows a lot of information in several views and you can perform a lot of custom settings, as well as setting a password to turn the bike on. The bike will charge the battery when using the brakes, which will give some power back to the battery when going downhill. Regarding power; you also have USB-output to charge phones etc.

With the adjustable stem, you can adjust the height of the steering handlebar for a more upright position when biking.

The high quality battery with over 900Wh energy, much more than normal ebikes, will give you 50-150km biking per charge. The motor is positioned directly on the rear wheel to avoid using the bikes gear-system and chain, which would be quickly worn out if the powerful motor was positioned on the crank.

The motor is very silent due to the brushless and sprocket-less technology and sine-wave power from the motor-controller.

Q&A

Here you will find the answer to a lot of questions. Maybe what you are wondering about can be found here:

Is it legal in EU?
If the TURBO remote control is not with the bike, the TURBO cannot be activated and it complies with the requirements for maximum speed and maximum power. It's not possible to see or check that the bike has a turbo-mode, unless you have the remote control in your hand. It's complete hidden! If you get stopped, you can deactivate TURBO with the remote control in your pocket, and the following test will reveal an EU-legal e-bike.

Can it delivered without the TURBO-mode?
Yes, but then it's just a standard and boring e-bike, with a very long riding range per charge due to the large battery.

Why not a mid-drive motor, like Bafang, Bosch etc.?
Such a powerful motor in the crank will quickly wear out the chain, gear system and gears inside the motor. Therefore, a direct-drive motor (without any inside gears) on the rear wheel is best for more powerful motors.

How far can you ride on a charge?
Depends on how much you pedal yourself, hills, temperature, etc. When used in the same way as a normal e-bike, the range is up to approx. 150 km. The battery is 48V, 19A, which is over 900Wh energy content, much more than regular e-bikes.

How do you remove the battery?
You insert the key, turn it over, and pull up the battery.

Can the battery be charged inside the house?

Yes, anywhere. Should not be charged when it is very cold (minus degrees) or hot (above 40 degrees), but can be stored cold.

How fast does it go?
In normal mode, it goes as fast as you can imagine, but motor power stops at 25 km/h. In TURBO mode, it goes up to approx. 50 km/h on flat ground, even more if you step extra with your legs.

Can anyone see that it can go faster than the 25km/h EU-limit?
No. One must have the remote control and activate Turbo mode to be able to see/test it. If the bike is turned off in Turbo mode, it is back to normal mode the next time it is turned on. If you don't have the remote control, it's a standard 'boring' e-bike which complies with EU requirements.

Does it have Pedal Assist (PAS) or twist throttle?

In EU-legal mode you use the pedals to get power from the motor. The higher RPM, the more power. You can also adjust the power in 5 steps on the LCD.

In TURBO-mode the PAS is deactivated, so now you will use the twist-throttle on the handlebar. You can/will still use the pedals of course, but the motor will only give power when using the twist throttle. Very handy and comfortable. Can also add that the bike has a Cruise-control function :-)

Does this have power regeneration when braking?
Yes, it gives power back to the battery when braking.

How does GPS work?
It has an eBiketag (specially modified Apple AirTag) which uses the network of iPhones worldwide to track the bike. It requires that the owner of the bike (or the person who will track the bike), to have an iPhone. The GPS-battery lasts approx. 1 year before it needs to be replaced (CR2032).

Does GPS tracking work if I have an Android phone?
The GPS tracking works but you must have an iPhone to see where it was last seen by an iPhone. If you don't have an iPhone, someone in the family, etc. with iPhone track it for you.

Can the bike it be locked?
You can set a PIN code on the LCD screen and it can be locked with a regular bicycle lock (not included)

Can I use it off-road?
It's a city-bike for asphalt and gravel. Not intended for jumping and rough terrain.

How does it handle rain?
It can withstand some rain but is not waterproof. The battery should be covered in heavy rain. The bike should be stored under cover, like other e-bikes. The lifespan of the bike will increase with less rain/moist, just like cars and other bikes.

What is the weight limit?
Recommends the biker to stay below 120kg

What is the weight limit on the rear carrier?

Recommends to have max 20kg on the rear carrier.

Where to get parts?
The wear-parts are standard bike parts you get in any bike shop. The e-bike components are maintenance-free. Should the accident happen, Elvibe can assist with these parts.

What is the lifespan of the battery?
With the right treatment, it lasts as long as an electric car. The best-in-the-class cells are from Panasonic, the new type 21mm x 70mm (21700). Expensive, powerful and long lifespan.

Can the seat be changed?
It's a standard seat post so you can easily change the seat yourself.

I have never had hydraulic brakes before. What is the advantage of them?
The brakes are like on a motorbike or in a car. The hose has no iron wire that rusts. The brake lever has a piston that pushes oil through the hose down to pistons in the caliper that clamp the brake pads together. The system is completely sealed and maintenance-free. Should it become necessary to top up with more "brake fluid", you fill in normal motor oil in a hole by the brake lever. They are also self-calibrating so that you don't have to adjust as the brake pads wear. Since the bike has disc-brakes, it can make squeeling noise in some conditions.

Can it rust?

Most of the bike is made of lightweight aluminium which don't rust as steel. There are some minor painted steel-parts, but most screws are of stainless steel.

Can you get a higher sitting position?
Yes, the bike has adjustable handlebars that allow you to sit more upright for those who want that.

Is it suitable for ladies?
The frame is lower than "old-fashioned" men's frames, but higher than standard women's frames. It thus depends on the "fitness" of the lady.

Does it come with an instruction manual?
Yes.
